With the Peloton on sale, it’s a great time to invest in a quality home treadmill
Really, is the Peloton on sale? After a product recall that kept it from debuting earlier this year in March, the Peloton Tread will finally be on sale next week. On August 30, the Peloton Tread workout machine will be released in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, with a Germany release later this fall.
Due to Peloton’s decision in May to recall the treadmill’s more expensive Tread+ for injuring children and causing one fatality, sales were postponed. The company also recalled 1,000 Tread units sold during the product’s pre-launch in the United States. The touch screen on the units would detach and tumble, putting the user at danger of injury.
As a result, the business began making repairs in August to improve built quality and make sure that the touch screen remained attached at all times. The Tread versions that will be available for purchase next Monday have received the same update and repair. Peloton has added new safety features to both versions of the Tread, such as a physical safety key and a requirement to enter a four-digit passcode to unlock the treadmill belt.
Peloton CEO John Foley said in a statement, “We’ve worked hard to make sure the new Tread truly earns its spot in Members’ homes. We’ll always continue to innovate our hardware, software and safety features to live up to our commitment to Member safety and to improving the full Member experience.”
The Peloton Tread was showcased just a year ago as a smaller, less expensive alternative to the Tread+, which can retail for over $4,295. Another great feature is a 23.8-inch HD touch screen that can tilt and swivel for viewing angles. Along with integrated speakers, users will have an immersive experience using this quality home treadmill.
With the Peloton membership, users can access the on-demand videos but at the cost of around $13-40 per month. We believe the membership is a great way to start learning your new workout machine but is not absolutely necessary. Once you get accustomed to the Peloton Tread, you will be able to use it at your own pace.
